Hey Everyone,

On April 24th I performed at The St Lawrence Accoustic Stage in Morrisburg, ON.  The show was an Intimate Acoustics show case of 8 artists performing 3 original songs. I had a great time performing there and got to see great performances by other artist. My brother Colby played guitar with me. I was given some great video from Sandra Whitworth which we has been posted on You tube, so check it out. Thanks to Sandra for recording it and letting us use it.

Don't forget; May 15th, I will be doing my first theatre show with my band at the Perth Studio Theatre, Perth Ontario. So if you are in the area, tickets can be purchased at ShadowFax 67 Froster St, Perth, or by calling

My latest single should be released to Country radio real soon. I will keep you posted.

Hey everyone!

It has been awhile since I have posted a journal so I figured now would be the best time seems how I just got back from a week in Nashville, Tennessee! What an amazing trip it was. My family and I went down to tour around the city, visit familiar places and meet up with Crystal Shawanda to do some song writing. The week started off great; first thing we did when we got there was buy some cowboy boots. J

We had a chance to take a tour of the Ryman Auditorium the next day where so many talented artists have performed throughout history. It was really a neat experience to walk into the building where these artists were. The auditorium truly was breathtaking; all I could think was how amazing it would be to sing on that stage to 2,000 plus people. Just as we were leaving one the staff asked me if I wanted to sit on the stage and sing a song; naturally I was extremely nervous. I grabbed the guitar from the side of the stage and sang my song, watch your back; it was awesome!

The next day we just toured around Broadway and enjoyed the hustle and bustle that is Nashville. When the day came that I was to write with Crystal I was getting pretty nervous and excited at the same time. When her and I were finally sitting together I wasn’t really sure how to begin, but we got started, I eased up and we wrote an amazing song, I think. I am so happy she took the time out of her busy schedule to write with me. J Those few hours were the highlight of the trip for me!

So that was my trip to Nashville; it was a great time and I have some memories I will not soon forget! You can check out my pictures here. For those reading, hopefully see ya out and about this summer J

July 27 2009 - Hey everyone!

On Saturday July 25th, My band and I made the long 9 Hour trip to Iroquois Falls, ON to perform at the Paper Fest. and open for Terri Clark!!!! What an awesome experience that was! The house was packed with 2000 plus people! It was definitely really fun to perform there. My band and I started the show followed by Larry Berrio and then Terri Clark. I was nervous to start performing but once I got going I was fine. When I sang Blue the crowd started cheering after I was done singing the first line of the song. It was a long trip but it was well worth it!!!

July 21st 2009 - Hey everyone!

Well we had shows July 11th and July 12th. On July 11th it was a private show. It was a great time and a lot of fun, except for the fact we where being rushed by bad weather. We just finished playing, all the equipment packed and it began to pour down rain. We where really lucky!

On July 12th we made the long trip to Bracebridge, Ontario at the 2nd Annual Muskoka Summer Festival. It was a fun trip and time. The sound and stage setup was great. We had a lot of fun performing and hopefully can make it back that way again.

July 9th 2009 - Hey everyone!

My season has started pretty busy with the month of July! I have already had three gigs this month starting with Canada Day. On July 1st my band and I had the opportunity to play at Lower Beverly Park, Delta,Ontario for an awesome and appreciative crowd! There was free cake and Ice tea. It was a very nice day and I am very glad I got to perform there on Canada Day!

The weekend that just passed I had two shows in one day. One in Cobourg at the Water Front festival and then another at a private show in Nappanee. First I will tell you about Cobourg; what a pretty city it is. The stage that we performed on was very nice and well set up. The crowd that we had was just great! I think it’s safe to say that my band and I had a good time performing there.
After we were done our performance there we were off to Napanee. The show there went very good as well! All together we had a very busy, and fun day.

2008 Review

What a year!! I decided I would make a make a short review to point out some of my highlights for 2008.  First of all, I got to release my first CD produced by Keith Glass.  It was for sure a learning experience and a lot of fun being able to work with Keith.  I released my first single to Canadian Country radio in May called Good Riddance written by Bob Dellaposta and Jim Carolan.  It received air play across Canada.. and upstate New York which was really cool.  My CD came out on May 29th and we had a CD release party at a small pub where I live.  About 150 people came to the show and we sold 80 CD’s.

Later in the summer I did my first big show in Petawawa Ontario thanks to Brian Abdallah who booked us giving us a great opportunity.  We opened for Emerson Drive! It was truly an amazing experience and time!  The crowd was big, very appreciative and made that experience great.  My band and I got to meet all the guys from Emerson Drive, and got our pictures taken with them.  It was a great start to the summer.

We did shows at different out door events throughout the summer and they where all a lot of fun!  We got to open for my friends, Ambush at a dance in August which was of course fun.

In September my Family and I went on a road trip to the CCMA’s in Winnipeg, Saskatchewan What a car ride I must say, 24 hours is long.  It was a lot of fun though and well worth the while.  Once we got there I got to meet a lot of people and make some great contacts.  I even got to perform on the All Star Band and Jam with Keith Glass.  We performed Unbreakable Heart. It was the first time I had sang it since we recorded it in the studio.  With saying that, I was very nervous.  The whole experience was awesome!!!

In October, I was able to perform at a showcase for the Ontario Country Music Association in Toronto Ontario at the Gibson Guitar Centre.  Jamie Warren was the host.  Before I performed, I was surprised to find out that Casey Clarke from CMT Chevy Cross Country Countdown was there.  He did an interview with me which aired on CMT October 24th. That was the first big interview that I had ever done, and it was televised across the country!  It was a lot of fun and everyone there at the Gibson Guitar Centre was great!....

Later that month we were invited to play in Little Current, Ontario by KT and Craig from Manitoulin Island Radio who were the promoters of the event. I was on the same ticket as Crystal Gage and Jaydee Bixby.  The show was on October 21st so we set out and made the 8 hour drive there.  Half way there we hit a snow storm.  It was pretty weird for the time of year.  We spent the night on the ..Island.., in a cabin by the lake. It was very nice.

December 6th we set out again to Manitoulin Island to open for Deric Ruttan for a 500 seat dinner galla. When we left we were driving through a snow storm, but we got out of it north of Ottawa.  We were planning to be there around 2:30 PM but just east of Sudbury we hit another snow storm.  We ended up getting there about 20 minutes before the doors opened. It was about -27C and there was about 8 inches of fresh snow. We did our sound check and were ready to perform. Just before we went on stage, a call came from Deric Ruttan’s driver; he was going to be late because of the storm.  We did our set and finished to a standing ovation! Deric finally got there and put on a great show.  I got to meet him afterwards. We took some pictures and talked with him. Again we stayed in some cabins by the lake.

Our last show was a private one on December 27th. The venue where this show was, we have played numerous times over the past couple years.  It was a party for about 100 people. It was a nice show.

So that is my year in review!  I am very excited and looking forward to 2009 and the shows that I will be doing this year!!

 See you on the road!

OCMA Showcase @ Gibson Guitar Centre!!

Last night I performed at the Gibson centre in Toronto! It was a showcase held by the Ontario Country Music Association.  Other members that performed were Dan McVeigh, Linda M, Kristen Clark and Lorraine Davies.  Jamie Warren was the host for the evening and he also performed.

Entering the Gibson guitar centre was quite the experience! Walking in the rooms filled with guitars was crazy; they were all just waiting on the walls to be played. There was also a lovely red piano in the centre of the floor, another instrument I love to play. There is so much more I could say about the Gibson centre, I will just say it was AMAZING for short! CMT http://www.cmt.ca Canada’s was there also, filming for the Chevy Cross Canada countdown and Casey Clarke was there. He gave an interview to each performer that night! When it was my turn I was so nervous! I think the interview went well, although I don’t know if others could tell how nervous I really was. The interview was such a thrilling experience for me, I was just so happy to be in that position. It was my favorite part of the night I think! I am now waiting for Friday October 24 at 8:00PM, when I will be on TV!  Sooo exciting! Tune in so you can see me do my first big interview with Casey Clarke!!

My performance went real smooth and good. Everyone involved did a great job to put this event on! I was happy to see the positive reception I received from everyone there during my performance. The camera man for CMT even recorded my first song I played, Modern Day Cowboy! I will surely not forget this night; it was utterly amazing I must say. I hope it is only the beginning of what is to come for me in my future!

I am heading off for my next show on Tuesday in Manitoulin Island where I am on the same ticket as JayDee Bixby! I am excited and eager to play somewhere I have not yet before! It should be great!!

Talk later,

Rebekka Paige

My first CCMA experience, AMAZING!!!!!
On Thursday Sept 4th I departed from my home with my family in our van and we drove to the CCMA’s in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It was an awesome experience! To start, I had the longest car ride of my life (literally), 26 hours in the car is crazy! Not something you want to do if you get car sick easily or just can not stand being in one place for a long time. BUT, the car ride was not really the high part of the trip. Although I did see a lot of Ontario, man is it ever big! We arrived in Winnipeg, Manitoba Friday September 5th later in the day around 5:30PM. We had got lost trying to find our hotel room, not fun of course we did eventually find our way. That night I did not go out to anything happening, I was just too tired.

The next day we all got up and went to Fan Fest down at the Forks. It was a lot of fun to see so many great Canadian performers! We saw Jessie Farrell, Michelle Wright, The Wilkinsons, Gord Bamford, Jason Blaine, just to name a few.

That night I took my guitar to the Delta hotel, where everything was taking place and tried to work up the nerve to get on the stage and perform. It was a song stage, kind of like an open mic sort of deal. I eventually got up around 12:30am! It went until 2am. It was A LOT of fun; I sang my current single, Watch Your Back acoustically. When I got off the stage I was surprised that some people wanted to talk to me about my performance. They were all nice; one of them even said I was the best of the night.

Sunday my dad and I got ready to go the songwriter’s Cafe. I meet and got my picture taken with The Wilkinsons, Julian Austin, Shane Yellowbird, and Beverley Mahood to mention a few. They were all so nice! Before we went to the cafe we saw Crystal Shawanda in the lobby. We went over to her and waited until she was done talking to someone else. We told her about what I was doing, my latest single and gave her one of my business cards. She was very supportive and nice to me, and even told me to get a hold of her when we were down in Nashville so we could go out for coffee together! Amazing or what!?

So on to the cafe, Jason Blaine, J.D Clark, Johnny Reid, and Hey Romeo were the performers. Each one of them played three songs for the crowd; there were about 200+ people there. They all told their stories about each one of the songs they played. I started to tear up when Johnny Reid told us the story about the song he sang, called My Old Friend, it was an emotional performance. I thought that it was a very good experience to just be in that intimate setting with those artists. Afterwards my dad and I went over to Jason Blaine and gave him my CD, and got a picture, of course!

I think Sunday was the most eventful day for me because later that night I got up and sang for the second time. There was an All Star Jam happening at the Delta Winnipeg, so I decided that I would get up and sing. It was the post party after the awards dinner that took place earlier. We did not know what type of setting it was going to be. When we got there the band was practicing some songs. Keith Glass was playing guitar and Wendell Ferguson was the Host for the first part of the evening. We went up to ask Keith if he could play a song that I could perform. Keith suggested that we could do Unbreakable Heart with his accompaniment on the acoustic guitar. I was EXTREMELY nervous when it was decided that I would get up and sing that song later in the evening!

As the night progressed all of the artists began to arrive! I walked past Johnny Reid, George Canyon walked past our table, The Higgins stole some of our chairs, of course they asked ha ha. Mark, Riq and Jim where there from Ambush; it was nice to see them and have some friends from home present. Jason Blaine was the MC for this part of the evening and was to start the show; there was to be a special guest, but something happened and they didn’t show.  So the next thing I know, I am being called to the stage by Keith to perform! There were a lot of people in there, and I had not sung Unbreakable Heart since I sang it in the studio in March! My nerves were going crazy. So there I was on the stage playing when Jason Blaine was supposed to be and the room was crowded. Jason Blaine introduced me and Keith and we began to play. I was kind of scared that I had not sung it good, but the feed back was good. That night I was so excited that I had sang on that stage, it was just an awesome time; I still can not believe that I did!! On our way out, I ran into Stacie Roper from Hey Romeo in the Delta lobby.  She made a comment on how good of a job I had done. Wow!!

After that busy Sunday, Monday we did not go out until later in the day. My mom, dad and I went out on the town; because we really had not went any further then the forks and our hotel to the Delta hotel. We went down to the mall and the MTS centre where the CCMA’s were being held that night. We got back from shopping and had to hurry and eat. We had to be in the doors of the MTS centre at 5:30 because that was when they were locking the doors. So we all hurried to get ready and walked down. Unfortunately we were way up in the 300s. Pigeon seats, we were so high up from the stage I was a little scared, so I just held on to my seat. That was the first time I had ever sat up that high! The award show was amazing, although we could not see everyone all that good! All the performances that night from Doc Walker to Paul Brandt, Terri Clark, Johnny Reid and Jessie Farrell were great. I also enjoyed the two Americans who came up to play for us, Dierks Bentley and Kellie Pickler! The closing with Randy Bachman, Deric Ruttan and Beverley Mahood was incredible.  Taken Care of Business is one of the songs I play with my band, so it was really neat to see them do it. The whole night was awesome and I will not soon forget it. When we got back to the hotel I flicked on the TV and watched some of it over again!

Tuesday we left Winnipeg; we stopped at the Forks and got some souvenirs. I had to prepare myself again for the 24 hour ride home. We left Winnipeg on Tuesday Sept 9th @ 12:30PM EST and arrived home in Ontario Wednesday Sept 10 @ 3:30PM, 27 hours later. Along time in the car!  It was funny; we stopped in Pembroke at the truck stop for lunch Wednesday and saw Jason Blaine just getting into his car with his family.

My first trip out of the province of Ontario, besides Quebec; I must say it was amazing, even more then just amazing! There is so much more I could say about my first CCMA experience! Everyone I meet was very nice; the people in Winnipeg in general were all very nice. So next year the CCMA’s are in Vancouver, I hope I can go and experience it again!  Looking forward to it!!

Hey!

Last night I performed in Prescott, Ontario for the summer splash. I was the show opener for Ambush. The show started off slow, but once it got going it was great! There were people up dancing having a good time which benefits me to see them having a good time. Our starting song was Watch Your Back, my new release from my album that Keith Glass co-wrote with me. Of course we also played Good Riddance which was my first single released. The show was a great and so was the crowd! I will be let you know how my show goes tomorrow at Ribfest!

Hello everyone!

It has taken me awhile to write about my last shows I have done, so I figured I would write a little about each one of them. I will start with my Kingston show down at Confederation Park. It was a great show! When we arrived there, there were already people sitting in their lawn chairs waiting for the show which was exciting for me. There was a nice steady crowd the whole time I performed. It was a really enjoyable performance. I got a lot of good feed back from members of the audience, one who even took the time to write me an email! So I would just like to say thank you to Mallory for writing an email. Also to Wendy B and Annie from KIX 93.5! I did an interview with Wendy just before I left to head off to Kingston.

My next show was in Kars for the Kars fair. It was another good show with many nice compliments. I appreciate it very much when people give me positive feed back from the show. Both shows I had a great time playing at and they both had varied crowds which is always good. I am looking forward to my next show in Prescott for the summer splash opening for Ambush! Talk to you after that!

THE EMERSON DRIVE CONCERT!

I am still in disbelief about what happened last night! It was such an unbelievable, amazing time. Opening for Emerson Drive was such a great experience for me; all of the guys were awesome. Also all the planners for this event such as Green Tomato Productions, Brian and Mary, I have to say thank you because without you I would not have got the chance to experience this. I would also like to say thank you to all the radio stations in that area such as Star 96 for playing my song Good Riddance. Also, thanks to the FANS!

Leading up to the performance I was getting a little nervous because of the fact that I was opening for Emerson Drive and I had never opened for such a big group. My nerves kicked in when everyone coming to visit me in my change room before the performance commented on how crowded the arena was! Once I got on the stage I just started to perform, I really got comfortable after the second song and was ready to get the crowd pumped for Emerson Drive. I loved performing for the crowd that was there, everyone was great and really made me feel comfortable on the stage. On my last song Sweet Home Alabama, I changed up the lyrics in the last chorus; Sweet home Petawawa and the crowd sang along. You can check out some pictures here.

After the show was over, we got in the van to go to the hotel room.  When the van was started, the music began to play and it was my song Good Riddance.  At first we thought it was the CD, but it was the top 20 count down on Star96  http://www.star96.ca/ , and my song was 17!

Overall the night was awesome, exciting and everyone involved in it was great! I sold CDs and signed many autographs which was fun! Later in the night I got to meet the entire band, get pictures taken and talked to them. Despite my band and I being nervous; I think we put on a great show and I am happy with our performance.  I am looking forward to performing in Petawawa again!

Hello Everyone!

Last night was my CD Release party at the Keystorm pub in Brockville, ON., Canada  Wow!!  What a great night it was! I don't think I can even explain it in words. It was so nice to see all my friends and even my teachers there to support me.

When we got there to setup, there was already a crowd.  Everything was finally setup and ready to go, so we did a sound check. Starting off I was a little nervous, there was a lot of people there that I knew so it added to the pressure. I had a great time performing, we played all the songs well and everyone there was very supportive. After we were done playing they wanted an encore so we did two more songs and the last one being my CD single release, GOOD RIDDANCE!  We all thought that was it, but the crowd wanted another encore, so we did one more song.

After last encore everyone was calling my name; they wanted me to sign there CD's and even got some pictures taken with people. It was a great an amazing night! I really enjoyed it!  You all were a great crowd, for those who couldn't make it there is still some places you can buy my cd! Which are locally at Elysium Day Spa, 5 Sheridan Mews, Brockville, ON., Maynard General Store, Country RD 26, Maynard, ON. Also at The House of Flowers 210 King Street West, Prescott, ON.  The CD will be available on line real soon.  I will post that info next week.

I would once again just like to say thanks to everyone who was able to make it!  I will be posting some pictures later today.

Thanks everyone

Wow! It’s getting pretty exciting!  We finished production of my CD which was recorded by Steve Foley in Perth at Audio Valley Studio; Keith Glass produced it.  I had fun doing the recording and sure learned a lot.  The first single is being released to 80 or so radio stations across Canada next week.  I will post a list of where they are so you can call in and request my song.  The CD will also be available I hope on May 12th.  We will be having a CD release party in May; I will post the when and where soon.

There was also an article about me in the Local St Lawrence EMC. If you didn’t see it, you can read it here.  I would like to thank Doreen Barnes for writing it.

Tomorrow we play in Perth the Festival of the Maples.  I had a radio interview tonight on www.lake88.ca.  After the interview, they played Good Riddance.  It was cool hearing my song on the radio.

Hi everyone!

It has been awhile since I last talked with you! Yesterday was my first show of this year. I performed at the Palliative Care telethon in Brockville with my band. It seemed like last years season had not even ended. With saying that, in all the show went really well!

After filling everyone in about yesterdays show, I should tell what I have been doing in these winter months. Lately I have been busy working away in the studio, gathering together a collection of some original tunes. We currently have seven songs recorded, do two more this week. Hopefully we will be finishing with a total of eleven songs. We are planning on having my CD finished for sometime in April. If you would like to hear an un-finished sample of three of the songs which are going to be on the CD, you could go to http://myspace.com/rebekkapaige .

Hey

Today I had an awesome time performing in Metcalfe for a car show! I was the featured act for the day, and played three sets. It was a different performance because I got to see a lot of real nice cars while I was performing. I had a fun time performing my original "Girls Like Fast Cars Too" because of the event. Everyone was real generous to me and my band. I think I may have also got another show out of this performance! If you want to her my songs on the radio, you can always request them at Y101 Mid Day request show with Linda Warne's .

Hello

Today I had an awesome experience playing at the International Plowing Match! Unfortunately I had a sore throat that day, so I was worried how I was going to sound, but I performed well. I had never been to an event like this one before, there were so many people. I will start off by telling you about the starting of my day. I got up at the same time I would get up on any other school day, except I had to get on the road to go to Crosby, not school. When we got there I looked out the windows and saw a lot of cars, and RV's it was crazy. I had to start performing at 11, and due to some difficulties we started a bit later. My performance went real good, I had lots of fun. Keith Glass stopped by to watch me perform which was great. I had a decent crowd and even saw some familiar faces in the crowd. The weather was terrific, not too hot or too cold. Although I didn't get a chance to walk around and see everything that was there because I wasn't felling well, it was still a great day. I will talk to you after my next gig in Metcalfe.

Hello everyone !

Yesterday I had a great time performing at the Lyndhurst Turkey Fair! Unfortunately the weather was cold and rainy for some of the day. I opened for the rockabilly All-stars, who put on a great show. Dave from the Rockabilly All-stars let my lead guitar player Colby play his 1970 Gibson SG. Colby had a great time playing it for our last song of the set, "Taking care of business". After we were done performing we got to walk around and see what was happening at the fair. I bought a candy apple! I haven't eaten one in many years. Anyways, I will talk to you after my next show at the IPM on Wednesday Sept 19th.

Hello all those Rebekka Paige fans!

Today is my day of rest after performing Monday night and last night at the Ottawa Super Ex. I will start off by telling you how my first night performing at the Ex went. We performed in the Country Pavilion which was a nice change. Were I performed was with all the animals around me, it was neat cause during my breaks between my sets I could walk around and see all the animals! I saw lemurs which I fell in love with because they are so cute, I got to pet an armadillo and feed a camel a carrot! But anyways back to my performance. I performed both my sets and enjoyed it a lot. I got to mention such things as that people can call in to Y101 during their request hours and request one of my songs, or just say Rebekka Paige and they will play one of them. Last night was also another great time, the sound was awesome! Overall both nights were amazing, I got compliments from many great people and I would love to have to the chance to perform there again next year.

Talk again soon,
Rebekka

Hello everybody!

So yesterday I performed downtown Kingston at Confederation Park! What a performance it was, it was my first time that I had performed in Kingston. The crowd varied between age groups which was nice, they were all nice and appreciative of my performance. Mark from Ambush came down to hear me perform then snuck away before anyone noticed him. A couple of people asked me if I would be back again the next year, my answer to that was hopefully I will be cause it was great performing there. The sound was great and the overall atmosphere was awesome! I will talk to you after my next performances at the Super Ex in Ottawa, where I perform to nights in a row!

Talk soon,
Rebekka

Hi everyone!

Today I preformed in Brockville at Ribfest!
It was a lot of fun, the crowd was awesome and the sound was great! I premiered two of my new songs "Good Riddance" and "Dream". I also played with my new guitar today which was fun. I sold some shirts today and even had requests for my CD although I have not yet made one, but I will have one made this fall ready for next year! I will talk to you after my next show in Kingston on Thursday.

Hi everyone!

I had a busy weekend playing at two shows, one in Cardinal the other in Lombardy. On Saturday I played in Cardinal at the legion for a small family function. It was a lot of fun and the people were extremely nice, and interested in supporting me through my singing career. I sold lots of shirts on that day which is exciting for me. I would like to say thank you to Richard, Julie and Nicole who made a courteous donation to me and my band members which shall not be forgotten.

Yesterday we performed at the Lombardy fair! The location was great and the people enjoyed my singing. People came up to me that had seen me in the previous years performing at places I forgot I had performed at, which made me feel silly but all the same glad that they remembered me and were there to hear me again! I have been working on some original songs that I will debut at my next show, which is in Brockville at Ribfest on Aug 12th. So I hope to see some familiar faces there!
Bye for now,

Happy Canada everyone!
I hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend cause I know I am. I performed at the Delta Big V yesterday in Delta and it was quite the event! The stage was very nice and big and the sound was awesome! I was the opener for the show, I had a great performance. We stayed to watch the Road Hammers who were performing later that night. It was exciting to watch them even though they were performing in the rain. We stuck it out to the end of the performance which was very good and got their autographs. Their performance was very good and it was exciting to meet them. I will talk to you again after my next show.

Bye for now

Hey everyone!
Last night I performed in Prescott at the summer splash opening for Ambush! It was a lot of fun, as always. The crowd was very appreciative along with MC, Jason Langstaff who is the morning show DJ on Q102.9. Another exciting thing that I got from this performance is that Jason said he would play my original song Modern Day Cowboy on the radio!! So you better call in and request it between 9 and 10 in the morning, Jason's request hour. I still have not heard it played on the radio even though it has played about 7 times! So I'll be listening for your request! But I'm out for now and I will talk to you after my next gig in Delta.

Hey everyone! I just thought that I would fill you in on what I have done since the last time that I talked to you. So where do I start, well I have recently done some work with Keith Glass from prairie oyster for my original songs, and that was exciting for me. I recorded two originals which is the start to my CD which will be released next year. You can here them at My Space web site.

I will skip ahead to present times though, or more like the past weekend and my performance in Merrickville. It was exciting for both me and my band. It was our first big show and the sound system was awesome! We played to appreciating crowd, which made me proud to be on the stage singing to them. My next show that I have is in Prescott, June 15. I am opening for Ambush which should be fun; I have opened for them before and had a great time!

I hope to see you out there listening and cheering me on!

Thanks,
Bekka

Merry Christmas Everyone!!

It has been awhile since I have said hello. I have been pretty busy with school and I haven't had much time to sit down and type. Now that it's the holidays I have time to sit down and get caught up with you guys. I have been working on getting a CD out for the summer in which I am hoping to have 7 original songs. I have got a couple of gigs booked already which I am excited about. If all goes as according to the promoters, I will be performing at the same event as Paul Brandt and George Cannon, so that is exciting! I am hoping to get some more gigs especially the great venues that I performed at last year. So Seasons greetings, Joyeux Noël, and a Happy New year to everyone. I hope to talk to you again soon!

Hey everyone; it has been awhile since I have talked to you! I have been so busy with school and going into grade 10, so that means lots of homework!! Well since I last talked to you I have done a couple of gigs, the one that I remember the most was the Turkey Fair Sept 16th. It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed all the people that were there to listen to me. I played after the Elvis impersonator, it was a great time.

My latest gig was just last weekend Saturday Oct 7, it was a great time. It was a private show. I enjoyed the crowd and how supportive everyone was for me; It was great!! Well my next gig is on the October 21st although it is private as well, it will be a great time.

WOW! I had a busy weekend performing both days! Today I played at Ribfest in Brockville , what a fun day!!! I opened for Ambush performing a half an hour set starting at 2:00PM. I was excited to play and see the crowd’s reaction before such a big act. I was so excited to get up and play!  When it was finally time, I was relaxed and excited. I got up and did a solo song first:

“Time of your life”, then the rest of the band got up with me. I did the set full of confidence and it went really well, finishing the set with Sweet home Alabama. Ambush was really nice and thanked me for opening for them.

The next time I was on was at 5:00 PM, and I couldn’t wait! I got up and did my last set. I started with another solo “who will save your soul”, then the band got up and we did the rest of the set. I had a really good time on stage and my last song I did was "Girls Lie Too". After I was done I was happy that everyone appreciated me so much! They even wanted me to do an encore so the song I choose to do was “Let Er Rip”.

Then it was time for Ambush to get back on. I found it really cool how many times they complimented me on my singing. After they were done I got my picture taken and they gave me there “Live” CD and their new CD. I gave them each a t-shirt of mine and Mark even put it on to take our picture together. It was such a good day and I really enjoyed myself and was glad that everyone enjoyed me so much!

Well I had a really good time at Ribfest and hope to back again next year. Check out the pictures.  I will talk to you after my next gig.

Bye for now!

Today I performed at the Brockville sidewalk sale, after Plan B. We were to perform our set, and we did. It was an interesting day although I don’t think that it was my best performance, but tomorrow I am opening for Ambush.

Then I get to play between one of their sets so I’m looking forward to tomorrow. I’ll let you know how it went tomorrow.

Bye Bekka.

August 6/06

Today I had gig in Cardinal, ON; it was an Open Country Jam put on by the Legion. We were to perform two sets. I also sang "O Canada" for the opening events. It was a neat experience and it was a different crowd, they were very appreciative of my singing and our performance. There were even some people that got up and danced during a few of my songs.  It was cool to see people respond to my performance like that.

After my first performance I went kayaking, it was a really neat and different experience for me because I have never did that before. I almost tipped the kayak when I went by myself, if you haven’t tried it you should!....Well today’s performance was fun and I will talk to you after my next performance.

Bye Bekka.

July 30/06

Hello everyone, it's the day after my Delta Fair gig and it was a lot of fun! We arrived there around 12 noon with many difficulties in the timing and where we were supposed to play. We finally figured it out and we got everything set up for our gig later on that afternoon.
We walked around the fair before our gig and went on some rides. Our time that we where to play at got changed because there was a parade, so we waited until after it was done and played at 2:30PM. I started out the set with two solos: "Good Riddance" followed by "Who Will Save Your Soul". Michelle Wright was at the fair because she was playing later on that night. Although she couldn't come out she said that she would open her window on the her tour bus and listen to me, and she did!!  We had some technical difficulties during our second last songs forcing me to talk, he! he! I asked the people there how the fair was going? and if they were enjoying it? There was a good response. After my last song "Sweet Home Alabama", we went on some more rides and looked around some more. Later that night we watched her play and after all the people were done getting her autographs (there was a lot of people!) she came over and talked to me. She gave me good advice and complimented me on my singing. I also got a picture with her and some of her band members. Check out the pictures here. It was really neat! Well yesterdays gig was really fun and I can't wait until my next gig.

Bye for now!

July 25/06

Wow that was a long night!! I’m talking about my performance last night. I’m used of performing in this area, but last night I left the province to go perform at the legendary place called "The Black Sheep Inn", Wakefield Quebec!  It was really interesting, it was an open stage and anyone could get up and perform so I thought that I get up with my band and perform some songs. Being new, you have to go every where so people know who you are. One band got up before me, and then it was my turn. I couldn’t be there much longer because you know I’m under age. :^) So we got up and did 4 songs including my first original "Life is hard", then we did "I Hope You Dance", my other original "Outta Luck" then my last song was "Sweet Home Alabama". It was a really neat experience although there weren’t hundreds of people; it was a nice area and we performed to 50 about people. My response was good and my band and I had a fun time, that’s really all that matters in the end. The guy who books all the bands there and runs the open stage said he really liked my songs and performance. Maybe someday we can do a show there.  So I guess I will talk to after my next gig. I think it’s sometime this week so....

Bye for now, Bekka.

July 22/06

Hey, its Rebekka here! I would just like to say thank you to all the people that are cruising my site. I just recently got back from my latest gig in Perth at Stewart Park Festival; it was a lot of fun for me. Now this was actually an open stage for selected artists to come and play a half an hour set for the audience. I was one of them going to perform among other great artists. We could only play a half an hour set so I had to pick out some songs that I could do in that amount of time. I did 5 songs and upon request; I performed a little bit of another song. The songs that I did were Let Er' rip, Every Little Thing, I Hope You Dance an original that my Dad and I co-wrote which is called: Life is hard, and Sweet Home Alabama a song everyone loves, then the first two verses of The Bug. It was so much fun being up on stage and seeing the different amounts of people there. The people of Perth really support the Festival which is great! I wasn't nervous though I really don't get nervous anymore I used to though, in front of big crowds. I met many great artists such as Joshua Morin, Brock Zeman and Keith Glass from Prairie Oyster. I think that this was a really good gig because I met a lot of people; a lot of people were impressed with me. Now that gig is done and I will talk to later after my next performance at the Black Sheep Inn open stage in Wakefield Quebec. I'm excited to go there and perform and meet some more people.

Talk to you later
Bekka.

July 15/06

Yesterday I performed at the Chocolate and Railway Festival in Smith Falls!
It was really fun as I guessed you noticed by the explanation mark at the end! So, my band and I performed on the main stage. Friday night was for Young musicians to perform. I was the closing act of the evening and we performed an hour set. The weather was nice to me and let me perform without any difficulties. The crowd was big and had a big variety of people of all ages.
I really enjoyed performing there; I had a lot of fun! The people were all really interested with me and supported me when I performed. I had a great time and look forward to going back next year. I guess I will talk to you after my next performance.

Bye for now,
Bekka.
